Senite Features with Kaicrewsade

Senite’s longtime friendship with fellow Chicago artist Kaicrewsade traces back to the summer of 2021, when both played their first-ever shows at a backyard gathering and quickly became staples on the local open mic circuit. Their shared drive and musical chemistry became clear early on — Kai invited Senite to record “Fone Kalls” from his EP Steve’s Demo in his car, an unconventional setting that made her nervous at first but ultimately sparked a natural collaboration. She also went on to feature on “Pilots” from the same project, solidifying their creative bond.

As the years went on, both artists grew their crafts individually while continuing to collaborate on unreleased songs waiting for the right moment to surface. Their partnership came full circle with Senite’s return on Kai’s 2024 project Yvette, where she delivered a verse on track 8, “#Dawg!” alongside Menace4Hire and Gayun Cannon. The track was a reunion of sorts — Menace4Hire had also been featured on “Fone Kalls,” while Gayun Cannon came up in the same open mic scene as Kai and Senite.
